03/08/2010 Dorset - End of season update
Hi to all who got involved with the Quadkids Athletics programmes this season........a few lines to bring this season to a close but also looking forward to next year too!
Some stats........23 different events throughout the county
1886 athletes took part in Quadkids events
50 different schools competed
250 young leaders trained
A word about the young leaders......without them Quadkids would not have been the success it was...their enthusiasm, sensitivity towards the young athletes and organisational abilities made many events a great memory for the children competing. The staff responsible for the leaders should also take a bow as they have instilled a great sense of responsibility into their students.
We have seen some excellent competition across the county and am I looking forward to next year with some excitment and already have some dates in my diary.....but always room for more. All the athletes strived to do their best and it was great to see the support for each other as they battled to do well for their schools.
A big thank you to all the coordinators of the various events, teachers, mums & dads for your efforts to bring athletics to Dorset. Many young athletes have moved from school activities to the athletics clubs and with the GB Team doing so well in Europe last week let us hope this encourages more people to get involved in Dorset in 2011.

21/07/2010 - Priory Junior School incorporate Quadkids into their Sports Day!
On a blustery Friday 16th July nearly 200 Priory Junior School pupils, 2010 GCAN Quadkids Finals Champions, showed their true sporting quality by competing in an incredible 15 multi skills events including four Quadkids disciplines as part of their end of year sports day!
The day saw some excellent individual and team performances. The contest was very tight between three teams; red, white and blue. It all came down to the final event scores. In third place were the red team, closely in front were the blue team and with a 200 point advantage were the white team who were also the overall sports day winners.
A special thank you to the fantastic work of Kevin Sadler who made the event such a success! well done to everyone who took part!!!
