14 May 2010 - Newquay Year 3&4 Cluster Event
What a lovely sunny day, perfect weather for a fantastic competition. Thank you to all the teams who took part and all the helpers and staff from Tretherras school.
Congratulations to Mawgan in Pydar who were the 1st team overall, although all the teams were fantastic.
Hope to see you all again next year.

13 May 2010 - Ferndown yr 4 cluster
A great afternoon of athletics saw schools battle for the right to go to the Dorset County finals in July! In fact on further scrutiny of the results 4th & 5th places were reversed.....please see all results on the Dorset results section.***Apologies to Hampreston athlete 27 (boys howler throw) result was incorrect...he threw 27.80m not 17.8 as published....sorry for fault...this will be corrected)
Ferndown Upper School hosted the event and supplied the young leaders to act as officials throughout the afternoon......and a great job they did too!
On a rather windswept afternoon the athletes put together some very good performances with only the 400m taking its toll (due mainly to weather conditions)
The sun did finally break and the wind stop.......just as the last event finished!!! We are back in Ferndown very soon (June 24th) for yrs 5/6
07 May 2010 - Havant & Waterlooville make Quadkids debut !
It's always great to be first and the first ever Quadkids Athletics event for Havant & Waterlooville schools was no exception. The schools taking part had a memorable afternoon of athletics competition assisted by the young leaders from Havant College.
A very close contest saw Purbrook school take the Gold with St Thomas More's B & A teams collecting silver & bronze respectively. Top boy was Jacob from St Thomas More B team and for the girls Lucy from Purbrook.
Thanks to all the teachers and parents who were encouraging their teams with gusto on a bright but chilly afternoon. Feedback has been very positive and all are looking forward to many more events in the future.
Next up in Hampshire is the Mayfield cluster event, Portsmouth on the 18th May.......see you there !
results will be posted of the Havant event asap but there has been a computer glitch...very sorry for delay
06 May 2010 - Bournemouth Yr 5 Finals
Last week it was Yr6 setting the headlines and now Yr5 have their say by also breaking records...........in the boys howler throw.....a massive 45m. This surpasses last weeks overall champ throw of 43m (from yr6!!) how good is that.......congratulations to Ben from Moordown St Johns School.
This week also saw the closest team comp with the top three places changing hands at every rotation.......leaving the final outcome to the last events. Once again the congratulations go to St Katherines school for their victory. For all the results please go to the 'results section' and see just how close the contest was!All to play for with Yr4 in a couple of weeks........keep training and see you at Kings park very soon.
Other events in Dorset coming up include a yr 3/4 event at ferndown on the 13th May and Poole (Broadstone Middle) on the 19th May and Cranborne yr 3/4 also on the 19th!

Following successful young leader QuadKids training at Poltair Sports college last week we have arranged further young leader training at:

St Ives
QuadKids are happy to provide young leader training ready for the 2011 season, this can be done in the 2010 autumn and 2011 spring terms. Please contact andy@quadkids.org to arrange your training requirements.
05 May 2010 - Success in Cornwall
QuadKids are pleased to announce that all 4 sports partnerships in Cornwall have agreed to run QuadKids events in 2010.
Penwith, Penryn and Callington partnerships all have year 5 & 6 cluster finals, with the top 2 teams from each final progressing to the Cornwall county final.
The Poltair partnership have recently agreed a Newquay cluster event for years 3 & 4 with almost 240 children taking part, plus another whole school event at Treverbyn School in Newquay.
The next couple of months will be very busy in Cornwall, please check back soon for results as and when events are completed.
05 May 2010 - Bideford primary schools plan QuadKids events
Following several meetings with the various primary schools and Mark Funning the Bideford SSCO we are pleased to announce several whole school QuadKids events in the coming weeks.
The following schools have either agreed dates for year 3&4 and 5&6 or are in the process of finalising dates:
East-the-Water
St Marys
Hartland
Kingsley
Westcroft
Hopefully we can build on this success and in 2011 we can incorporate many more clusters and partnerships throughout Devon to hold whole school events.

04 May 2010 - DURHAM NOW UP AND RUNNING
The first of many quadkids events has taken place at Spennymoor School in county Durham. Mixed teams from both Spennymoor School and Tudhoe School year 7 girls join together to form teams representing several counties with Wales coming out on top. Individually it was very a close run event with 3 girls all tieing for 1st place. To see a full list of the results follow the link below or access the County Microsite for Durham.
